Founded over 35 years ago by Rachel Ashwell, Shabby Chic® introduced a new design aesthetic that blended her essential values of beauty, comfort and function into a lifestyle movement. Drawing from her English heritage and a relaxed California coastal spirit, Rachel created a brand renowned for it timeless romantic aesthetic and enduring appeal.

The Brief
Shabby Chic® engaged Hunter Amenities to develop a signature collection of personal care products that would extend the brand’s categories, while staying true to its iconic aesthetic. The objective was to create a curated collection that captures the brand’s attributes of romanticism, relaxed elegance, and practical functionality, through thoughtful product design and packaging, clean formulations and a nostalgic yet modern sensibility.
Formulation
Formulated with clean, vegan ingredients, the Shabby Chic® collection is free from parabens, sulfates, and phthalates, and is cruelty-free. Each product was thoughtfully developed to deliver a sensorial, restorative experience while meeting modern standards for ingredient integrity. The collection reflects Shabby Chic®’s commitment to mindful, elevated living through consciously crafted self-care.
Scent Story
Rachel has had a very long love affair with flowers and her signature floral prints. Her extensive gardens in Los Angeles and in Somerset, England are filled with rose and flower bushes of every variety that give off a heavenly scent nearly year-round.
Shabby Chic® is known for Rachel’s signature vintage inspired florals used in bedding and home furnishings that create a warm and welcoming home sanctuary. It was Rachel’s wish to create a bath and body collection that reflected these loves and directly influenced the scent formulations and packaging.
Each scent formulation was carefully considered and selected based on Rachel’s favorite floral and herb varieties. Each scent has a signature Shabby Chic® print that visually communicates the scent within.
Packaging
In support of Shabby Chic's® environmental ethos, the bath and body collection includes Shower Gel, Body Lotion, Hand Wash, and Hand Lotion packaged in recyclable HDPE bottles that are made in North America to reduce the collection's carbon footprint. Luxurious Hand Cream and Soap Bars are packed in vintage inspired, recyclable aluminum tins that can be re-purposed after use to reduce waste.

Every detail was designed to reflect a commitment to beauty with purpose, blending vintage inspired design elements with practical eco-conscious qualities. Crafted with “clean” quality ingredients and eco-friendly principles, the Shabby Chic® bath and body collection extends a beloved brand into self-care products that nurture both body and soul, blending mindful living with everyday well-being.
