The Brief
In 2022, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts requested Hunter to help them with a global product development initiative to redesign their dry accessories program with a focus on sustainability. This project, rolled out across all Fairmont properties worldwide, would prioritize the use of eco-conscious materials and responsible sourcing practices to align with the brand’s environmental commitments and goals.
Materials
To support sustainable business practices, the Fairmont dry accessory outer carton packaging utilizes FSC-certified paperboard made from renewable bamboo fiber and soy-based inks. Dry accessory products feature biodegradable and compostable components such as bamboo, cotton, PLA bioplastics, and unbleached paper, with several items also using recyclable or vegan-certified materials.

Shave Kit featuring bamboo razor handle and biodegradable PLA material head, Nail Care with emery board made from biodegradable chipboard and sandpaper, Dental Kit featuring toothbrush made from biodegradable bamboo and nylon bristles, Vanity Kit with biodegradable cotton rounds and buds.
Fairmont Slippers featuring 100% cotton material with sustainably sourced cork soles, Sewing Kit with holder made from paperboard, biodegradable cotton threads and recyclable safety pins, Shoe Mitt made from biodegradable cotton, Shower Cap made from biodegradable PLA plastic.
